In their recent quarterly financial report Sembcorp Marine confirmed that Perisai jackups Perisai Pacific 102 and Perisai Pacific 103 plus Oro Negro jackups Vastus, Supremus and Animus have all been technically completed and that a number of potential clients have emerged to acquire the units whose owners have yet to commit to accepting delivery. Jurong shipyard also has another jackup still under construction, Hakuryu 14, whose delivery has been put back from 2016 to January 2018. Roc Oil in Malaysia have begun a pre-qualification exercise for the provision of a jackup for its phase 2 D35 drilling campaign offshore Sarawak. The workscope will include between 9 and 12 infill wells and 3 to 4 workovers on three separate wellhead platforms. Commencement is between May and September 2018. Roc currently have Perisai jackup Perisai Pacific 101 on a farm-out from Carigali with a 17 well program set to finish in November this year.
Not strictly an award but Petronas Carigali in Malaysia has extended the contract for Malaysian contractor Perisai’s jackup Perisai Pacific 101 by a significant 20 months keeping the rig contracted until April 2019. The rig’s current charter is due to end in August although the rig has been farmed out to Roc Oil for a sub-let that is set to last until November. The rates for the extension are based on current market rates but the contract value has been declared at $47m by Perisai which equates to around $70,000/day. Over in Singapore Perisai has put off having to accept delivery of its two BMC Pacific 400 Class, under construction at PPL shipyard, until 31 August 2017. The Perisai Pacific 102 was completed in June 2015 and delivery deferred to March 2016 then to October 2016 and has been on standby at the yard. Meanwhile Perisai Pacific 103 has also been on standby since construction was completed in July 2016 with delivery initially pushed back to October 2016.
